Burg Veldenstein

Burg Veldenstein is a medieval fortress perched on a hilltop in Neuhaus an der Pegnitz with sturdy stone walls and defensive towers. The complex includes a residential section with a restaurant, several towers for defense, and interior rooms that visitors can explore through guided tours.

The fortress appeared in written records in 1269 and functioned as an administrative hub for the Bishopric of Bamberg for many years. Over centuries, it evolved from a pure defensive stronghold into a residential castle with broader purposes.
