Das DICK, Entertainment center in Esslingen am Neckar, Germany
Das DICK is a large building with multiple levels that brings different types of spaces together under one roof. Inside you will find restaurants, fitness facilities, entertainment venues, and office spaces organized throughout its structured layout.
The building was erected in 1889 to manufacture Dick brand tools and files that were exported worldwide. When production moved elsewhere in 1997, the structure was given a completely new purpose and direction.
The building shows how a former production site has become a gathering place for people from the city. The space tells the story of how Esslingen shifted from a craft center to a modern leisure destination.
The location sits near Esslingen's main station, making it easy to reach by public transport. Parking is available on site, and the entrances are clearly marked for easy orientation.
The site features a glass diving tower filled with approximately 280,000 liters of water where unusual water activities take place. One memorable event was a table football world record attempt conducted underwater here.
