German Museum of damask and terry toweling

This facility houses a large collection of looms, production equipment, and thousands of fabric samples displayed across multiple exhibition halls. The rooms demonstrate all the steps involved in creating damask and terry cloth fabrics.

The institution was founded in 1905 to preserve the history of textile production in the region. The industry itself has roots in early damask weaving practices, while terry cloth manufacturing became an important part of local production later.
