Dorfkirche Bohnsdorf, Baroque church in Bohnsdorf, Germany.
Dorfkirche Bohnsdorf is a baroque building with a rectangular floor plan and a square tower crowned by a cupola. The church holds an organ built by Wilhelm Sauer and can accommodate around 250 worshippers.
The building was constructed in the mid-18th century by architect Johann Friedrich Lehmann and replaced an earlier wooden church. The stone structure was later reinforced and rebuilt in the 1950s following damage from conflict.
The church carries the village name and serves as the gathering place for the local evangelical community's worship life. Its interior displays memorials that connect residents to shared history and collective memory.
The location sits on the edge of Berlin and is accessible by public transport. The building is open for worship services but checking ahead for visiting hours is wise since times can vary with local events.
A Soviet military aircraft crashed near the building in the 1950s and caused damage to the structure. The repairs that followed actually reinforced the building and improved its durability for decades to come.
