Dominikanerkirche, Gothic church in Landshut, Germany
The Dominikanerkirche features a three-aisled basilica structure with high windows and side chapels, displaying intricate architectural elements throughout the building.
Founded in 1386 as a Dominican monastery church, the building underwent substantial interior renovations between 1747 and 1752 by architect Johann Baptist Zimmermann.
The church interior contains detailed Rococo decorations, including stucco work and frescoes that demonstrate the religious artistic techniques of 18th-century Bavaria.
The church remains closed during winter months due to lack of heating, but opens for services and concerts during warmer seasons.
Dendrochronological studies revealed that the choir roof structure dates to 1291, while the main nave roof components originate from 1340.
