Sontheimer Straße 7 und 9, architectural structure
Sontheimer Straße 7 und 9 are two brick buildings completed in 1902 with three floors each. The facade features windows arranged in pairs and triplets framed by simple decorative ledges, reflecting early 20th-century design.
Built in 1902, these structures initially housed a hairdresser and leather shop on the ground floors. Over the following decades the spaces changed hands and purposes repeatedly until comprehensive restoration work took place between 2010 and 2015.
The street once housed various trades and small businesses operating alongside residential spaces. Today the ground-floor layout still reveals how shopkeepers and craftspeople worked while families lived above them.
The buildings are easily accessible on foot in a quiet residential area with good pedestrian paths. Visitors can view the facade and window details from the street and explore the surroundings at a leisurely pace.
The ground floor of number 9 houses a small restaurant called Latasch, whose owner is Polish and survived two concentration camps. He pioneered the introduction of hamburgers to Heilbronn and left a lasting mark on the local food scene.
