More than 90 wooden stalls line the Obermarkt square in Freiberg, offering regional products, seasonal food, crafts, and traditional decorations from late November to December.
The Freiberger Christmarkt, established in 1990, reflects the 850-year mining heritage of Freiberg through its design, activities, and marketplace setting.
The Bergparade procession on December 7 features the Historical Freiberger Mining and Smelting Guild marching through town with torches, ending at Petrikirche.
The market operates Monday through Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00, and Sunday from 10:30 to 20:00.
Visitors spending 20 euros receive a complimentary Glühwein or Kinderpunsch at Silberstadt-Baude, while children can participate in the Kleine Bergwerkstatt activities.
