St. Marien, Gothic Revival parish church in Dudweiler district, Saarbrücken, Germany.

St. Marien in Dudweiler is a three-nave hall church built in Gothic Revival style with carefully crafted interior details. The church houses a large wooden relief carving of the Last Supper in the choir area and displays many carved wooden figures along the pews throughout the space.

The church was constructed from 1864 to 1866 to serve a growing Catholic population in the district. It suffered severe damage during World War II but was later restored multiple times with care.

The name honors Mary, the mother of Jesus, and reflects the deep Catholic roots of this neighborhood community. The carved wooden pews with their saints create a sense of spiritual craftsmanship that worshippers encounter during each service.

The church is accessible during regular visiting hours and service times when you can view the interior in a calm setting. If you want to hear the organ played, it is worth checking ahead for times when concerts or services are scheduled.

A large painting depicting Saint Barbara appearing to an injured miner hangs in the church and was honored with a prestigious artistic award long ago. This work connects the veneration of a saint with the local mining heritage in an unexpected way.
