Elisabethenbrunnen, Water well in Kurpark Bad Homburg, Germany.
The Elisabethenbrunnen features a two-level structure connected by semicircular staircases and an Ionic monopteros housing a white marble Hygieia statue.
The spring was discovered in 1834 by physician Eduard Christian Trapp, who initiated scientific studies of the water's medicinal properties for digestive treatments.
The fountain represents a central element in Bad Homburg's development as a spa town, with Emperor Wilhelm II directing its architectural transformation during World War I.
Located within the 40-hectare Kurpark, visitors can access the fountain through multiple walking paths while exploring other notable park features.
The industrial magnate Wilhelm Becker funded the construction of the fountain temple, which was executed by Berlin sculptor Hans Dammann.
