Schloss Haldenwang is a three-storey main building with a later octagonal tower and adjoining service buildings, rebuilt in Neo-Gothic style in 1860 on a ridge above Haldenwang in the Günzburg district. The main block runs north to south with two western extensions forming a horseshoe; the library wing and an externally accessible chapel with a crypt below flank a bastion. The complex is surrounded by a large park and partly by a wall.

Schloss Haldenwang was built around 1480. In 1502 it passed to the Lords of Knöringen, and in 1515 to the ancient noble Freyberg family, line Freyberg-Eisenberg. In 1860 Rudolph von Freyberg-Eisenberg had it rebuilt in Neo-Gothic style to plans by Georg von Stengel. The family lived there until the end of World War II; in 1945 the US Army occupied the site, and it was later used as a home for displaced war invalids. It was renovated in 1984 and remains owned by the baronial von Freyberg-Eisenberg family.

The estate belonged to the von Freyberg-Eisenberg line of the old Swabian noble family von Freyberg from 1515 until the end of World War II. The neo-Gothic chapel, accessible from outside and built above the crypt, can be rented for religious ceremonies. Representative rooms such as the Rittersaal, the library and the Spiegelsaal are open for public use.
