Evangelical Church Centre Kronsberg, Modern Lutheran church in Kirchrode-Bemerode-Wülferode, Germany.
The Evangelical Church Centre Kronsberg is a modern church building made of concrete with extensive glass walls on three sides. Inside, blue-tinted translucent panels frame the altar area, while the complex also includes residential units and a central courtyard around a fountain.
Construction began in 1999 based on architect Bernhard Hirche's design and the building opened to worship in 2000. The site developed over the following years to serve both spiritual and community needs.
The centre welcomes both Lutheran and Baptist congregations sharing the same worship space and facilities. This shared arrangement reflects a spirit of collaboration between different faith communities in the neighbourhood.
The complex sits in a residential neighbourhood and is easily accessible by public transport. The glass walls make the building visible and easy to locate when approaching from nearby streets.
The bells came from St. Ansgar Church in the city and were ceremonially installed in 2001. This transfer connected the new building to an older religious heritage.
