Schloss Miltach, Architectural heritage monument in Miltach, Germany.
Schloss Miltach is a rectangular manor house in Bavaria with two stories and vaulted ceilings in the basement and ground floor. The building displays 13 window axes and today serves as a museum and workshop space.
The castle was built around 1600 at the initiative of Justinian von Peilnstein, an illegitimate son of Duke Ernst of Bavaria. The structure shaped the region and was inhabited and expanded over many centuries.
The chapel at the northern end honors Saint Nepomuk and remains in use today. It shows how faith and daily life were closely connected within the castle walls.
The ground floor houses a workshop, a shop, and living quarters, while the first floor functions as a museum. This layout helps visitors understand the different historical uses of the building.
During renovation work, builders discovered earlier paintwork beneath the exterior plaster that created three-dimensional surface effects. These hidden details reveal the artistic techniques used by the original builders.
