Fahrzeugmuseum Frankenberg, Automotive museum in Frankenberg, Germany
The museum collection presents restored vehicles from local manufacturers Framo and Barkas, documenting the industrial heritage of Frankenberg and Hainichen regions.
Founded in 1996, the museum emerged after Frankenberg city acquired the historical collection from BARKAS company following its liquidation in the early 1990s.
Former employees of BARKAS works established a support association in 1993, contributing their expertise to preserve the regional automotive manufacturing traditions.
The museum operated in Mühlbacher Straße until 2019, when its collection transferred to the new ZeitWerkStadt experiential museum format.
The exhibition includes the prototype of Barkas B1100, which never entered production, alongside 19 original vehicles from different manufacturing periods.
