Fuggereimuseum, Historical museum in Augsburg, Germany.

The Fuggereimuseum occupies three rooms in one of the remaining original houses of the Fuggerei and shows how people lived here across several centuries. The spaces are furnished with items that illustrate the daily life of these residents.

The Fuggerei was founded in 1521 by Jakob Fugger as the world's first social housing settlement to provide affordable homes for people with modest means. The museum itself opened in 1957 and has documented the history of this place and its residents ever since.

The name Fuggerei honors the Fugger family who founded and shaped this community. Today visitors can observe how ordinary people lived in these homes and arranged their modest rooms.

The museum is easy to find in the heart of the Fuggerei and can be explored without a guide. It is recommended to visit on a day with good daylight, as the rooms rely on natural light.

Visitors can see an authentically reconstructed room from 1517, with furnishings and decor based on careful research in local archives. This reconstruction offers an unusually detailed look at the private living spaces of that time.
