Leutstettener Moos, Protected nature reserve in Starnberg, Germany.

Leutstettener Moos is a protected nature reserve near Starnberg that combines various landscape types including wetlands, forests, and open water areas. The Würm River flows through these sections and creates a richly structured natural landscape along the northern shore of Lake Starnberg.

The landscape formed during the last ice age when glaciers left clay deposits that became the foundation for present-day bog formation. These geological processes shaped the basin structure where water and vegetation settled over thousands of years.

The name originates from the boggy wetlands that define the landscape and local character of the area. Visitors can explore the untouched sections and observe typical marsh plant species in their natural setting.

The area features marked walking trails that wind through the different habitats, allowing visitors to explore the landscape at their own pace. Good equipment with sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing is recommended, as many areas are damp.

The area contains several small lakes including Goldsee and Galgensee that are connected by the Würm's meandering course. These water bodies form an important part of the ecosystem and create different vantage points for visitors.
