Pauluskirche, Gothic Revival church in Südstadt-Bult, Germany
The Pauluskirche is a church building in Südstadt-Bult, Hannover, designed in the Gothic Revival style and characterized by pointed arches and soaring towers. The structure features tall stained glass windows and distinctive architectural elements that direct the eye upward.
The church was founded in 1883 and completed in 1886, establishing itself as a major building in the neighborhood. Following destruction in World War II, it was completely reconstructed between 1957 and 1958.
The Pauluskirche serves as a spiritual gathering place for the local evangelical-Lutheran community and shapes the neighborhood with its prominent presence. The building hosts religious services and community events that bring residents together throughout the year.
The building is clearly visible from the street and located on Meterstraße in the residential neighborhood of Südstadt-Bult. Access is at ground level, making it easy to approach and view the exterior or enter during open hours.
The post-war restoration was carried out with great care to preserve the Gothic Revival features exactly as they were originally designed. Craftspeople managed to recreate the building's distinctive appearance despite its complete destruction.
