St. Cyriakus, Romanesque parish church in Mendig, Germany.
The church of St. Cyriakus features solid stone walls, rounded arches, and eleven original oak frames above the central nave from the 12th century.
Construction of St. Cyriakus began around 1180, with the first two floors of the west tower completed by 1216, followed by two additional floors in 1474.
Medieval wall paintings from the 12th, 13th, and 14th centuries decorate the interior walls, discovered during renovations between 1886 and 1888.
The church opens Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, located on Kirchstrasse 205 in the Niedermendig district of Mendig.
The central nave contains eleven preserved Romanesque oak frames, dated between 1175 and 1195 through dendrochronological analysis.
