Mendig

Mendig is a municipality in the Mayen-Koblenz district of Rhineland-Palatinate, located at an elevation of around 220 meters. The town covers an area of approximately 24 square kilometers and is home to several thousand residents.

The municipality was established through German administrative reforms that brought together smaller local communities under one administrative structure. This arrangement allowed for better coordination of services across the different villages in the region.

The town gained recognition when it hosted the Rock am Ring festival in 2015 and 2016, drawing thousands of music fans to the area. These events put the place on the map as a significant venue for large-scale gatherings.
