Schloss Friedberg

Schloss Friedberg is a fortified complex with defensive towers, multiple courtyards, and a large ceremonial hall for events. The structure combines medieval defensive elements with later renovations to form a varied building complex.

The castle began as a medieval fortification of the Wittelsbacher dynasty and was rebuilt and expanded many times over the centuries. After major restoration work in the 21st century, it reopened in 2018 as a cultural center.

The castle was home to the Wittelsbacher family and still shapes how locals view their town. The rooms tell stories of aristocratic life and show how power and culture were connected here.

The castle sits in the city center and is easy to reach on foot, with parking available nearby. Events happen regularly throughout the week and weekends, so visiting at different times offers different experiences.

The ceremonial hall now hosts official civil weddings, blending medieval architecture with modern life moments. This dual use makes it a remarkable place where history becomes part of everyday events.
