Neues Schloss Teublitz, Architectural heritage monument in Teublitz, Germany.
Neues Schloss Teublitz is a two-story residence in Bavaria featuring a mansard roof, decorative stucco work, and a distinctive entrance gate. Two stone lion sculptures flank the gate, which serves as the main approach to the property.
Joseph Carl Wilhelm Teufel von Pirkensee constructed this residence between 1750 and 1780 as a significant example of Baroque and Rococo architecture. The building represents an important moment in the development of Bavarian nobility architecture.
The palace grounds reflect a past preference for English landscape design, visible in the green spaces and water features that remain. Today, visitors can walk through areas that once represented the romantic ideals of the original builders.
The property now houses a therapeutic and social care facility, with portions of the castle grounds open to visitors. Guests should check beforehand which areas are accessible, as not all sections of the site are available for public exploration.
The entrance gate displays the coat of arms of the Teufel von Pirkensee family framed by elaborate Rococo shellwork. The stone lion statues flanking the gate date from the same period and remain distinctive features of the grounds.
