Schloss Detzel

Schloss Detzel is a hunting castle located east of the road connecting Haldensleben to Satuelle, surrounded by oak forest. The building rises two full stories above a basement level and features an octagonal tower on its northwestern corner, decorated with ornamental belt cornices and console friezes.

The castle was commissioned by Baron Hermann von Bonin in 1844 with support from King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. The architectural design reflects influences from Carl Friedrich Schinkel, one of the leading architects of that era.

The rooms inside still feature their original decorations and craftsmanship from the 19th century. These details show how the space was designed to reflect the status and tastes of its former residents.

The location sits within a spacious oak forest that makes it feel somewhat removed from nearby roads and settlements. Since the property now operates as a business facility, viewing from a distance is possible, though visitors should check beforehand if closer access is permitted.

The structure features an irregular floor plan that blends romantic design with practical functionality. This combination of artistic style and practical layout makes it an interesting example of 19th-century castle building.
