Haus 5 is a three-wing brick structure with two main stories, a central three-story section, and a four-story staircase tower in the middle. The building features a flat roof with extended overhangs throughout.

Haus 5 was built in 1900 as a Bewahrungshaus, a secure ward on the grounds of the LVR-Klinik in Düren. It is listed as monument no. 1/001g in the city of Düren's register of protected buildings. In early 2016 it appeared on screen as a filming location for Gordian Maugg's docudrama Fritz Lang – Der andere in uns.

Haus 5 now serves as a venue for special exhibitions on psychiatry and for events. It is intended to become a central exhibition and meeting place of the LVR project "Forum Psychiatrie – Dezentrale Begegnungsstätten zur Geschichte und Gegenwart der Psychiatrie im Rheinland", which is being set up.

Haus 5 stands on the grounds of the LVR-Klinik in Düren and is used for special exhibitions on psychiatry and as an event venue.
