Hardtwald, Public park in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany

Hardtwald is a roughly 190-hectare forest between Bad Homburg and Friedrichsdorf-Seulberg, about two kilometres long and up to 1.5 kilometres wide, with two thirds on Bad Homburg land. Its centre is the 224-metre Köhlerberg. The Kreuzschneise runs north to south as the main path, and the Köhler- and Fuchspfad lead from the Kurpark towards Friedrichsdorf.

Hardtwald is a remnant of the Taunus range, about 190 hectares in size, two thirds of it on Bad Homburg land and the rest by Seulberg. The shelter on the Friedrichsdorf side is named after Friedrich Christian Schmidt, Seulberg's mayor before and after the Third Reich; citizens and nature groups built it in 1960, and after Storm Emma destroyed it in 2008 Manfred Rühl rebuilt it at his own initiative with the town covering materials.

The Taunus climbing forest sits at the Seulberg forest edge by the Hardtwaldschule.

The main paths are the Kreuzschneise running north-south as a continuation of the Rotlaufweg, and the Köhler- and Fuchspfad from the Kurpark toward Friedrichsdorf into the Bottigtal. The Philosophen- bzw. Seulberger Fahrweg leads directly into Seulberg's Hardtwaldallee. The northern end borders the Bad Homburger Waldfriedhof along the former B 455.

The Köhlerberg, at 224 m the highest point of the Hardtwald, lies just southwest of the Seulberg boundary ride.
