Tierpark Herborn, Wildlife park and zoo in Herborn, Germany
Tierpark Herborn is a zoo covering about 2.45 hectares and home to approximately 300 animals from about 80 different species. On display are meerkats, muntjacs, kangaroos, and numerous bird species in their respective enclosures.
The facility was founded in 1966 and initially focused on birds and nature conservation. Over time it developed into a nonprofit organization and received its current name in 2017.
The park serves as a place where visitors can watch animals up close and learn about their natural habitats. Daily feeding sessions offer chances to follow the keepers' work and understand how animals are cared for properly.
The park is open daily until dusk, so visiting hours vary by season. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and allow time to comfortably explore all the enclosures.
The facility operates specialized aviaries for endangered bird species like the Bali starling and great green macaw. These rare birds are part of international breeding programs to protect their species.
