Heilig-Geist-Kirche, Neo-Gothic church building in Blasewitz district, Dresden, Germany.
The Heilig-Geist-Kirche features red brick construction with a slender bell tower and four corner spires, designed in neo-Gothic style with pointed arch windows and ribbed vaulting throughout the interior space.
Built between 1891 and 1893 by architect Karl Emil Scherz, the church was consecrated on October 15, 1893, after the Protestant community in Blasewitz had previously held services in a school hall since 1876.
The church serves as an evangelical Lutheran parish alongside Versöhnungskirche in Striesen and Bethlehemkirche in Tolkewitz, hosting regular worship services, organ concerts, and community events for the local congregation.
The church accommodates 800 to 1000 worshippers with galleries on three sides, features an Eule organ from 1954 with 38 registers, and offers parking facilities in the surrounding area for visitors.
The church houses a sculpture titled 'The Prodigal Son' by Hans Hartmann-McLean in the adjacent park, commemorating Hermann Ilgen, a significant patron who funded the construction through his foundation.
