Mauritiuskirche, Catholic church in Wiesbaden, Germany
The Mauritiuskirche features a glass facade that begins narrow at the entrance and extends wider toward the central altar, reaching 12 meters in height.
Built between 1958 and 1968, the church carries the name of Saint Mauritius, who was the patron saint of Wiesbaden's first Christian church from 1065.
Artist Otto Herbert Hajek incorporated light yellow bands in the main aisle and created a bright altar area with the church flag and cross.
The church complex includes community rooms, a crypt in the lower section, and complete accessibility throughout the parish center and chapel areas.
The architectural design by Martin Braunstorfinger and Jürgen Jüchser integrates the exterior entrance pathway with the interior sanctuary in continuous form.
