Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche

Built around 1280 as a Franciscan monastery church, the structure underwent multiple transformations, serving as a barn and warehouse during the 16th century.

The ceiling keystones display various painted motifs from 1700, including electoral caps, roses, Brandenburg eagles, and the Aschersleben coat of arms.

The Catholic parish of Saint Michael conducts regular services in this centrally located church, which stands as a registered monument in Saxony-Anhalt.

The street pavement outside marks the outline of former monastery buildings discovered during archaeological excavations in 2001.
