The Herz-Jesu-Kirche features a 34-meter-tall tower, red brick construction, and decorative stone elements that characterize its Neo-Gothic architectural design.
Following the Protestant Reformation in 1539, Catholic services resumed in Sangerhausen during the 19th century industrialization, leading to the church construction in 1894.
The interior contains Charles Crodel's stained glass windows from 1961, depicting biblical scenes through colored glass artistry.
Visitors can access the church Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 9:00 to 13:00, Thursday from 13:00 to 18:00, and Sunday from 8:00 to 12:00.
The church organ, installed in 1976 and retuned in 2008, contains 22 registers producing different musical combinations for religious services.
