Heiligenhof, Educational and meeting center in Bad Kissingen, Germany
Heiligenhof is an educational and meeting center at the forest edge of Bad Kissingen with a main building featuring distinctive columns and several accommodation buildings. The entire facility spans a large area and can host over 220 guests attending various events.
Heiligenhof was built as a villa in 1923 by Carl Schröder and redesigned in 1941 by architect Fritz August Breuhaus de Groot into a country house. This transformation shaped the facility's appearance that visitors see today.
The center hosts gatherings where German and Eastern European groups meet and learn from each other. The place encourages conversations between people from different countries about shared topics.
The center has conference rooms, sports courts, a climbing tower, high ropes course, and archery range for different activities. Visitors should plan ahead since the grounds are extensive and activities are typically organized as part of group programs.
According to local accounts, former Federal President Heinrich Lübke got lost in the surrounding forest during his 1964 visit. Local children found him and guided him back to the main buildings of the site.
