Hochriesbahn

Hochriesbahn is an aerial lift in Samerberg that carries passengers between two stations at different elevations. The system bridges a height difference of about 200 meters, connecting the lower station to the upper mountain station.

This system was built in 1973 and has served as an important access route to the higher areas of Samerberg. It has reliably transported visitors into the mountain region for over 50 years.

This lift connects visitors to the local hiking and winter sports traditions of the region. People use it to reach mountain terrain and enjoy seasonal activities that are part of everyday mountain life here.

The ride takes about 10 minutes and carries many visitors at once. Good footwear and appropriate clothing for mountain conditions are recommended, especially when weather can change quickly.

The lower station sits at 715 meters elevation, while the upper station reaches 916 meters and opens onto numerous hiking trails. This access allows visitors to reach hiking terrain quickly without having to hike up from below on foot.
