Burg is a castle ruin located on elevated ground near the Wern river, positioned above Gössenheim. Stone walls and defensive structures from the medieval period are still visible, showing the original fortification layout.

The site was built around 1170 by the Lords of Hohenberg and later became part of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg in 1469. This transfer of ownership altered the political importance of the location in the region.

The name Homburg alternates in records with Hohenberg, after the Lords of Hohenberg who held it; the castle also appears as Homburg ob der Wern. In October 2021 the ruin served as the backdrop for a music video by the medieval-rock band Feuerschwanz.

The ruin stands on a ridge at 300 m above sea level above Gössenheim, in the Main-Spessart district. The site is reached on foot; the terrain along the ridge is uneven, with broken wall sections and gaps in the curtain wall, so sturdy shoes are advisable.

The ruin served as a backdrop for a music video by the medieval rock band Feuerschwanz in October 2021. The band filmed at the grey stone walls on the wooded ridge above Gössenheim.
