St. Nicolaikirche

St. Nicolaikirche is a baroque brick structure with rounded arch windows and a sandstone-decorated main entrance. The building features galleries inside and displays a classical baroque design typical of the 1770s.

This church was built from 1775 to 1776 and replaced several earlier structures on the same site. A wooden predecessor from the 8th century was destroyed by fire in 1164.

The interior displays pink walls and white galleries that create a bright, open space. This baroque decoration with altar and pulpit shapes how the church feels when you walk inside.

You can enter through the main portal in the facade, and the interior layout is straightforward to navigate. The church hosts regular services as well as occasional concerts and special events.

A bell tower rising 35 meters marks the western end and houses an organ built by Hinrich Just Müller. This instrument, completed in 1776, has undergone several renovations and remains in use today.
