St. Nicolaikirche

The St. Nicolaikirche stands 41 meters long and 13 meters wide, featuring rounded arch windows and a sandstone-decorated main portal with inscriptions.

Built between 1775 and 1776, this fourth church on the site replaced previous structures, including an eighth-century wooden church destroyed by fire in 1164.

The church interior displays pink walls, white galleries, and contains a 17th-century altar and pulpit that reflect regional religious architectural traditions.

The church maintains an active schedule of services, concerts, and community events, including annual Advent celebrations starting from late November.

A 35-meter-tall bell tower marks the western end of the church, containing an organ built by Hinrich Just Müller in 1776, renovated multiple times until 2006.
