Künstlerdorf Schöppingen

Künstlerdorf Schöppingen is a foundation located in two manor houses from the early 1800s that provides studios and workshops for visual artists, writers, and composers. The buildings contain specialized work spaces as well as shared areas where residents can interact and collaborate.

The foundation was established in 1989 with the goal of creating a space where artists could work intensively and exchange ideas internationally. Since its creation, it has supported hundreds of creative practitioners and developed into an important cultural venue.

The residency welcomes artists from around the world who exhibit their work, host readings, and collaborate in shared workshops throughout the space. Visitors can experience these international projects and creative exchanges taking place within the facilities.

The two manor houses are located in the town of Schöppingen and are easily accessible by foot. Visiting during daytime hours allows you to see current exhibitions and experience any events happening on the grounds.

The residency goes beyond typical studios by operating a small cinema and maintaining wood and metal workshops on the grounds. This varied equipment allows artists to work across different media and experimental formats.
