Cologne Prison

Cologne Prison is a correctional facility in Ossendorf comprising several detention buildings connected by corridors, with administrative areas, a church, and a library arranged in the central zone. The complex also includes exercise yards and workshop buildings that support different programs and activities for those held here.

The foundation stone for the current facility was laid in November 1961, replacing an older prison that occupied much larger grounds in what was then the city center. This move to the new location represented a significant shift in how the city approached criminal detention.
