Schloss Harbke, Renaissance château ruins in Harbke, Germany
The château features two three-story wing buildings connected by a polygonal stair tower with a pointed roof in Renaissance architectural style.
The Veltheim noble family constructed a water castle named Hertbike in the 14th century, protected by a double water and moat system.
The coats of arms of the Veltheim and Saldern families remain visible on the château's facade, representing centuries of noble heritage.
The castle grounds include a freely accessible park with structures such as the Waschhaus pond and the large park meadow.
The site's botanical garden gained recognition when botanist Johann Du Roi published his dendrological treatise in 1771, leading to a visit from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
