Kahlenberg, Mountain summit in Sankt Ingbert, Germany
The Kahlenberg rises 372 meters above sea level within the Sankt Ingbert-Kirkeler forest area, offering views of Rohrbach and the Bexbach power plant.
Before the 18th century, this elevation carried the name Sauberg or Schweinsberg due to the numerous wild pigs inhabiting its dense forest areas.
The mountain features a hiking lodge operated by the Palatinate Forest Association since 1957, along with a mountain cross marking its religious significance.
A network of single trails surrounds the mountain, including a section of the 50-kilometer mountain bike route called Die Pur around Sankt Ingbert.
Former quarries near the mountain provided sandstone material for the construction of the Catholic church in the nearby district of Hassel.
