Tierpark Ueckermünde

Tierpark Ueckermünde is a wildlife park spanning about 18 hectares near the Stettiner Haff, home to more than 400 animals representing 100 different species. The grounds feature naturalistic enclosures where visitors can see animals in settings that resemble their typical habitats.

The wildlife park began in 1962 as a small aquarium displaying local fish species and gradually transformed into a much larger facility. Over the following decades, land animals were added and the grounds expanded into a major animal park in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The park serves as an important place for nature education in the region, where visitors can observe animals in their habitats and learn about wildlife. School groups use the grounds to gain hands-on experience with the animals and the natural world around them.

The grounds feature wide, wheelchair-accessible paths and rental wagons for small children or less mobile visitors. It makes sense to wear comfortable shoes and bring weather-appropriate clothing depending on the season, as you will be walking through open grounds.

Visitors can watch scheduled feeding times when otters, lions, and mandrills receive their meals, an experience many visitors find to be a highlight of their visit. These demonstrations occur at different locations throughout the park and show how the animals behave during feeding.
