Kröffelbach Monastery

The Kröffelbach Monastery is a Coptic Orthodox religious center in Waldsolms featuring a domed church with three altars and modern religious artworks created by Egyptian artists. The compound includes monastic living quarters and study spaces set within a rural landscape.

Egyptian monks established the monastery in 1980 as an extension of their religious tradition from the Baramous Monastery in Egypt. This founding created the first Coptic Orthodox monastic presence in German-speaking Europe.

The monastery serves as a living center for Coptic Orthodox worship and monastic life, where daily prayers and rituals follow ancient Eastern Christian traditions. Visitors notice how the spiritual community shapes the daily rhythm of this rural religious space.
