Kloster Neuenkamp, Cistercian monastery ruins in Franzburg, Germany
The monastery church measured 25 meters in width and 90 meters in length, featuring Gothic architecture with brick construction and transept wings.
Prince Wizlaw I of Rügen granted permission to Abbot Arnold of Kamp to establish this daughter monastery in 1231 near the Blinde Trebel River.
The monastery developed numerous German settlements in the region while managing extensive agricultural lands, mills, and fishing operations across Pomerania.
The southern transept of the original church structure remains accessible as the current parish church of Franzburg.
The monastery stones were repurposed in 1587 to construct the city of Franzburg, named after Duke Franz of Brunswick-Lüneburg.
