Kloster Seligenporten, Cistercian monastery in Pyrbaum, Germany.

The Seligenporten monastery stands near the center of Pyrbaum, featuring stone walls, high windows, and architectural elements from multiple construction periods.

Founded in 1242 by Gottfried von Sulzbürg and Adelheid von Hohenfels, the monastery controlled 350 properties and housed 650 inhabitants by the year 1500.

The monastery held authority over seven parishes and two chapels, serving as a center for religious education and agricultural development in medieval Bavaria.

Visitors can access the monastery grounds through guided tours, with the premises now housing a hotel-restaurant while maintaining its historical structures.

The monastery contains some of Germany's oldest preserved wooden stalls, dating from the 13th century, representing medieval craftsmanship and architectural design.
