Landschaftspark Althaldensleben-Hundisburg, English garden and cultural heritage monument in Haldensleben, Germany.
The Landschaftspark Althaldensleben-Hundisburg is an approximately 100-hectare landscape that connects a Baroque palace with an abbey through designed green spaces. The grounds contain formal garden areas, water features, and natural zones linked by walking paths.
Johann Friedrich von Alvensleben transformed Hundisburg from a castle into a Baroque palace between 1693 and 1712, laying the foundation for the present-day park. This transformation shaped the appearance and structure of the grounds that remain today.
The park takes its name from two historic sites connected by pathways, showing how noble families shaped landscapes according to their vision. Visitors can still see how private gardens and religious spaces were linked together spatially.
The grounds are well-connected by walking paths and suitable for strolls throughout the year. On the property you will find a brewery, a restaurant, and accommodation options for longer visits.
The park's historic tree nursery once supplied trees to numerous German gardens, including rare species such as ancient Ginkgo specimens. This tradition of plant supply remains visible today in the diverse tree collection on site.
