Kloster Amtenhausen, Benedictine monastery ruins in Immendingen, Germany
The former monastery complex includes remaining stone structures of the priory building, now privately owned, and a memorial cross erected in 1960.
Founded before 1107, Amtenhausen Monastery functioned as a priory of St. George's Abbey in Black Forest until 1682, when it became an independent abbey.
The monastery's high altar, created in 1688, and side altars were distributed to churches in Emmingen, Immendingen, Zimmern, and Aasen after its closure.
Visitors can observe the exterior of the remaining priory building and attend annual prayer services held at the memorial cross on Mother's Day.
The monastery once housed the renowned Silbermann organ, which was later relocated to Neudingen where it eventually perished in a fire.
