Schloss Prantshausen

Schloss Prantshausen is a château in Bad Aibling with thick walls and a Baroque facade, located centrally at Marienplatz 5. The structure displays architectural features from different building periods and operates today as a hotel.

The château emerged in the early medieval period and first appears in written records during the 8th century. Two devastating fires in the 15th and 18th centuries severely damaged the structure and led to major changes in its physical form.

The north side shows a mural connected to the area's religious past and local traditions. This artwork reflects the place's spiritual importance to the region over centuries.

The building sits centrally in Bad Aibling and is easily reached on foot from public spaces. Since it operates as a hotel, the exterior and grounds can be viewed from outside, though interior visits depend on availability and guest status.

Four towers were replaced with a unified Baroque facade following two major fires, which gave the building its current appearance. This transformation shows how fires shaped the château's architectural evolution across centuries.
