The cable car system began operations on July 11, 1955, manufactured by Peter Seilbahnen GmbH from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and underwent a temporary closure in 1982.
The cable car serves as a vital transportation link for winter sports participants and summer hikers exploring the Bavarian Alpine region.
Operating primarily from December through April, the facility provides access to various ski slopes suitable for different skill levels.
The cable car system operates with a 15 horsepower main drive, managing an average gradient of 18 percent across three support towers.
