Literaturhaus Hamburg, Literary venue in Uhlenhorst, Hamburg, Germany.
The Literaturhaus Hamburg operates from a historic villa, featuring a bookstore, cafe, and multiple spaces for literary gatherings and performances.
The building dates back to 1837 when August Abendroth acquired it, and in 1908 it became a private gymnastics institute under Franz Justus Krieg.
The institution presents 150 annual events including international literature presentations, podium discussions, and literary-historical evenings focusing on contemporary works.
Members receive priority access to event tickets without additional booking fees and can attend readings, workshops, and discussions throughout the year.
The Young Literature House section develops programs for ages 5 to 25, incorporating writing workshops and school project days.
