Miniaturpark Klein-Erzgebirge, Miniature park in Oederan, Germany
Miniaturpark Klein-Erzgebirge is a leisure park in Oederan displaying over 200 detailed wooden models of buildings and landmarks from the region at 1:25 scale. The roughly 17,000-square-meter facility shows a comprehensive collection of regional architecture and landscapes.
The park traces its roots to the Krippenverein society founded in 1909 and opened to the public in 1933. After closure during World War II, the facility reopened at its present location in 1955.
The models show traditional Erzgebirge craftsmanship through hand-carved wooden figures and regional architecture. Visitors can see how local building styles and traditions come alive at small scale.
Visitors should allow ample time to explore the many details of the miniature landscapes. The grounds are mostly accessible, with marked paths leading through the different areas of the park.
Some of the model structures feature working mechanisms, such as a fire brigade that operates with real water. These moving details make the scenes more engaging and bring motion to what would otherwise be static displays.
