Kleine Sächsische Schweiz is a miniature park in Stadt Wehlen that displays detailed models of natural formations, landmarks, and historic buildings from the Elbe Sandstone Mountains region. The approximately 8,000 square meter park offers a scaled-down representation of this distinctive landscape with its sandstone formations and traditional structures.
The park was created to preserve and present the iconic landscapes and structures of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in miniature form for visitors to explore. A miniature railway operates within the park based on the design of the original Schwarzbach railway that has served the region.
The exhibition shows typical features of the Saxon landscape through replicas of sandstone formations and structures that reflect how this region appears. Visitors can explore traditional architecture and natural rock formations in miniature form.
The grounds are well suited for families with children and offer several interactive activities across a manageable area. The best time to visit is during good weather, since many areas are outdoors and the site is explored on foot.
Visitors can operate remote-controlled boats on an artificial lake, which is particularly enjoyable for children. Additionally, people can try gold panning in a designated area and experience the feeling of discovering real treasures.
