Großsteingräber im Haldensleber Forst

The Haldensleben Forest contains 78 visible megalithic tombs spread across 20 square kilometers in Saxony-Anhalt, forming the largest burial ground in Central Europe.

Built during the Neolithic period, these burial chambers typically feature eight to nine pairs of support stones with capstones, creating specific architectural patterns.

The archaeological site includes the Teufelsküche tomb and the Royal Tomb, which demonstrate the burial customs and ceremonial practices of Neolithic communities.
