The castle features a three-wing structure with a protruding central section, incorporating arcaded ground floor and rusticated stonework throughout its facade.
Between 1819 and 1822, architect Leo von Klenze designed this residence for the Marshals of Pappenheim, who relocated from their previous castle.
The ceremonial hall contains a coffered stucco ceiling by Pierre Viotti, along with historical friezes and grisaille paintings by Anton Schönherr.
The castle now houses offices and apartments, with its main entrance located near the Altmühl River, opposite the town hall of Pappenheim.
The property includes an English landscape garden extending to the Altmühl River and remains in possession of the Count family von und zu Egloffstein.
